Return Helper System – Address Format Requirements for Sagawa Express Return Labels in Japan

Sagawa Express Return labels used by our Japan warehouse are subject to relatively strict address format validation.

This document outlines the relevant requirements and provides examples of correctly formatted addresses for your reference.

📌 Why is the Japanese postal code formatted as NNN-NNNN, but only NNNNNNN is accepted in the system?

✅ This is a restriction imposed by the supplier. Therefore, a postal code format validation (without the hyphen) has been applied to Sagawa return labels accordingly.

📌 Can the address be entered in English?

✅ City/Town must be entered in Japanese; Street may be entered in English.

📝 Example:

〒 020-0023  1-37 Uchimaru, Morioka-shi, Iwate

岩手県盛岡市内丸 1 番 37 号

Street1 = 1-37 Uchimaru

City/Town = 盛岡市内丸

State = 岩手県

Postal Code = 0200023

📌 How should the address be entered correctly in the system?

✅ City/Town field: Must include City name + Town name

✅ Street field: Enter Town name + Chome / Banchi / Go; both numeric and text formats are accepted

❌ City/Town field does not include the Town name.
